April 27, 2012. Nairobi. The Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) Match Secretary Jane Nyamogo has today dispatched a notice to all Kenya Hockey clubs that this Saturday’s (tommorow) and Sunday’s fixtures have been postponed.
The short note reads in part “due to unavoidable circumstances, the (KHU) fixtures committee has moved all fixtures forward by one week.”
This means that teams that were to play on the 28th / 29th April 2012 will now play on the 5th/6th May 2012.
Fixtures from May 14th will be released to clubs by end of next week (April 30th – May 4th).
The news throws a number of clubs into disaaray coming less than 24 hours to some games. Most clubs were ready to play tommorow, Saturday.
The knee-jerk cancelations of fixtures also does little to instill trust in a union that is already reeling from broken promises to clubs concerning the 2-leg league and talk of Kenya Hockey matches being aired live on Dstv’s Supersport.
